Guys, I have to start by saying, yesterday was absolutely incredible. I set out with a target in mind, hoping to finish the race in around 2 hours and 15 minutes. But guess what? I smashed that goal by a whopping 6 minutes, finishing at around 2:09! Can you believe it? I’m still on cloud nine, feeling this surge of accomplishment coursing through me.
As I reflect on the race, there are a few things that I believe played a pivotal role in my success. First up, carb loading. I made sure to fuel my body with carbohydrates 72 hours before the race, providing it with the energy it needed to tackle those miles ahead. Trust me, those extra reserves made all the difference.
Next on my list of secret weapons: LMNT electrolytes. I incorporated these into my routine three times a day, 72 hours before ensuring that my body stayed hydrated and balanced throughout the intense challenge. Proper hydration was key to keeping my muscles firing on all cylinders.
And let’s not forget about the power of recovery. Lymphatic drainage became my pre and post-run ritual, with my legs up against the wall to promote circulation and reduce soreness. I did it an for 10 minutes before I left for the race. It’s amazing how a little self-care can go a long way in aiding recovery.
Now, let’s talk about the race itself. The route was no walk in the park, presenting its fair share of challenges. But you know what? It was also a blast! There’s something exhilarating about pushing your limits and conquering obstacles along the way.
I woke up with the sole intention to have fun. At the end of the day that’s why I run, I wanted to have a good time and that’s exactly what I did.
There was a pivotal moment during the race when doubt started to creep in. I found myself questioning my pace, worried that I wouldn’t meet my goal. But then, something shifted. I had this realization that just a year ago, running at a 6-minute pace seemed like a distant dream. In that moment, I shifted my mindset, focused on my breathing, and pushed myself to go faster.
Crossing that finish line was a surreal experience. In that moment, I wasn’t just crossing a line—I was crossing a threshold of possibility. I proved to myself that with dedication, perseverance, and a sprinkle of self-belief, anything is achievable.
Today, my body might be feeling a tad sore, but it’s a sweet reminder of the triumph I achieved yesterday. It’s moments like these that remind me of the incredible connection between wellness and pushing our boundaries. Whether it’s reaching a fitness milestone or stepping out of our comfort zones, the journey is where the magic happens.
I am devoting the month of May to work on my brand and set my career to new heights. A vision board and journaling has been done for what I am expecting of myself in May and I couldn’t be more excited!
So here’s to embracing the journey, setting audacious goals, and celebrating every step forward. And who knows? Maybe next time, I’ll shave off even more minutes from my time. Until then, stay inspired, stay motivated, and keep pushing those limits.
