It’s been a while since I last checked in, and boy, do I have a story to share with you. Let’s just say the past few days have been quite the rollercoaster ride – one that I didn’t exactly sign up for.

You see, I’ve been MIA for a bit, and if you’re wondering why, well, here’s the scoop: I got sick. Again. Yep, you read that right – for the second time this month. And let me tell you, this one hit me like a ton of bricks.

It all started last Friday. I woke up feeling off, you know, that unmistakable feeling when your body is trying to tell you something isn’t right. But being the determined soul that I am, I brushed it off, thinking it was just a minor hiccup that would pass with time. Oh, how wrong I was.

As the day progressed, so did my symptoms. By Sunday, I was feeling downright miserable – feverish, achy, you name it. That’s when I knew I had to throw in the towel and seek help. Off to the emergency room I went, with my ever-supportive boyfriend by my side.

Now, let me pause for a moment to give a shoutout to my incredible partner. Throughout this entire ordeal, he’s been my rock, my pillar of strength. From holding my hand during blood tests to fetching me endless cups of tea, he’s been there every step of the way. I don’t know what I’d do without him.

But enough about that – let’s talk survival tactics, shall we? When it comes to battling the dreaded sick bug, I’ve learned a thing or two about what works best for me. And at the top of that list? Chicken noodle soup, my friends. There’s just something about its comforting warmth that soothes both body and soul, if you’re Canadian Swiss Chalet Chicken Noodle soup is where it’s at.

And speaking of soul-soothing, let’s talk about a little gem that’s been keeping me company during my sick days – “The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment” by Eckhart Tolle. Now, I’ll be the first to admit, diving into a book about spiritual enlightenment might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but trust me when I say this one is worth it. Its wisdom has been a source of solace and inspiration during some of my darkest moments.

So there you have it, folks – my not-so-glamorous update from the sick bay. But you know what? Despite the sniffles and the sneezes, I’m feeling grateful. Grateful for the small comforts, grateful for the unwavering support of loved ones, and grateful for the opportunity to slow down and take stock of what truly matters.

But we’re back to regular schedule programming, stay well, stay cozy, and remember – even in sickness, there’s beauty to be found.
